PHNOM PENH – May 29, 2026 – Prime Minister Hun Manet has called on all relevant ministries, institutions, and sub-national administrations to actively support the TVET program, which aims to provide free vocational and technical training to 1.5 million young people from poor and vulnerable families, as well as informal and formal economy workers.

In a directive issued on May 28 regarding the 9th National Technical and Vocational Education and Training Day 2026, held under the theme "TVET Provides Skills, Jobs, and Income," the Prime Minister instructed TVET institutions to encourage instructors to collaborate with enterprises and industries. This partnership is designed to keep training aligned with the latest technology and labor market demands, helping students learn quickly and apply their skills effectively.

The Prime Minister also urged enterprises to provide internship opportunities, allowing students to bridge theory with real-world practice, while giving employers the chance to recruit trained graduates as qualified employees.
