Cambodia and China Reaffirm 'Ironclad Friendship' on 77th Anniversary
PHNOM PENH — Sept. 22, 2026: Cambodia and China have reaffirmed their longstanding friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership as Beijing marks the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
General TEA Banh said in a social media message that the traditional Cambodia-China friendship has been carefully nurtured by the top leaders of both countries. He noted that in recent years the two sides agreed to build a high-quality, high-level Cambodia-China community with a shared future in the new era, underpinned by stronger strategic trust, practical cooperation, people-to-people exchanges and multilateral coordination.
He expressed hope that the "diamond" cooperation and the comprehensive strategic partnership will continue to flourish and bring more concrete benefits to both governments, armed forces and peoples.

Chinese Ambassador Wang Wenbin, in his own messages, described China and Cambodia as "true friends sharing weal and woe and good partners with mutual trust," adding that the "ironclad friendship has only grown stronger over time." He said China firmly supports Cambodia in pursuing a development path it chooses independently and remains Cambodia's most trusted development partner.
Wang also said Cambodia has immense development potential. He said China is ready to work with Cambodia to implement the strategic consensus reached by both countries' leaders, enrich the "Diamond Hexagon" cooperation framework, and advance the "Fish and Rice Corridor" and "Industrial Corridor."
He said the aim is to make China-Cambodia relations a model of a community with a shared future for mankind and to realize the rejuvenation of both nations.
