Cambodia and India Reaffirm Their Commitment to Strengthening Defence Cooperation
PHNOM PENH, June 30, 2026 – Cambodia and India have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defence cooperation, as the newly appointed Indian Defence Attaché paid a courtesy call on the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.

On the morning of June 30, H.E. General Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, received Colonel Adhishek Arora, the newly appointed Indian Defence Attaché to Cambodia, for a working discussion at the High Command Headquarters.

General Vong Pisen expressed gratitude for India's continued support in human resource training and praised the success of the second Cambodia-India bilateral military exercise, CINBAX-II, held in May 2026 in Kampong Speu province. He proposed continued cooperation in military training, exchange visits at all levels, information sharing, counter-terrorism, disaster relief, peacekeeping, mine clearance, joint exercises, and naval port calls.

Colonel Adhishek Arora confirmed India's readiness to support Cambodia's training and capacity-building needs, and noted that India's advanced defence industry could provide technology and modern equipment, including mine clearance tools and reconnaissance drones.

General Vong Pisen expressed satisfaction and gratitude for India's continued support for the development of Cambodia's military capabilities, contributing to regional peace and stability.
