Cambodia and Myanmar Sign Tourism MoU to Boost 'Two Countries, One Destination' Vision

PHNOM PENH, June 17, 2026 – Cambodia and Myanmar have taken a significant step toward realising the "Two Countries, One Destination" initiative, signing a Memorandum of Understanding on tourism cooperation in Yangon on June 16.
With the high approval of Prime Minister Hun Manet, H.E. Huot Hak, Cambodia's Minister of Tourism, signed the MoU with H.E. Maung Myint, Myanmar's Minister of Hotels, Tourism and Culture. The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in promoting tourism potential, increasing tourist flows, encouraging direct flights, sharing experiences and best practices, and facilitating travel for citizens and visitors.

The MoU also seeks to accelerate the implementation of the "Two Countries, One Tourism Destination" concept, enhancing people-to-people exchanges and maximising mutual benefits.
Cambodia and Myanmar have maintained diplomatic relations for 71 years and continue to strengthen cooperation across various sectors through bilateral and regional frameworks.
