Cambodia Approves 37 Investment Projects Worth $233 Million in August

PHNOM PENH, September 10, 2026 – The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) and the Capital-Provincial Investment Sub-Committees approved 37 investment projects in August 2026, with a combined capital of approximately US$233 million, according to a CDC press release.
The projects are projected to generate approximately 23,000 jobs for Cambodian workers.
The CDC registered 27 of these projects, accounting for roughly US$198 million in investment and an estimated 17,000 jobs. The remaining 10 projects were registered by the Capital-Provincial Investment Sub-Committees, with capital of approximately US$35 million and the potential to create around 6,000 jobs.
By sector, industry attracted the largest share of investment at approximately US$209 million, followed by agriculture and agro-industry at US$24 million.
China emerged as the leading source of investment, comprising 44.02 percent of total capital, followed by Cambodia at 39.13 percent and Singapore at 10.38 percent.
The CDC noted that during the first eight months of 2026, Cambodia continued to attract quality investment projects, particularly in infrastructure and tourism, while industry remained the leading sector. This trend reflects investors' confidence in the Royal Government's efforts to promote business and investment activities.
