PHNOM PENH, July 2, 2026 – A senior Cambodian official has participated in the Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC) 2026 in Germany, reaffirming the Kingdom's commitment to multilateral cooperation and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

H.E. Chhieng Yanara, Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions and Second Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, attended the conference on June 29-30 in Hamburg. The conference brought together high-level representatives from governments, international organisations, the private sector, and civil society to foster dialogue, strengthen international cooperation, and promote shared commitments toward the SDGs. The discussions focused on three pillars: resilient economies, technology and the future of the planet; risk, uncertainty and conflict; and ensuring the future of human collaboration, multilateralism and governance.

On the sidelines, H.E. Senior Minister held a working discussion with H.E. Bärbel Kofler, Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Both sides exchanged views on Cambodia-Germany development cooperation and discussed preparations for the forthcoming Cambodia-Germany Governmental Consultations, scheduled for November 2026.

The participation reaffirmed Cambodia's strong commitment to multilateral cooperation as a cornerstone for sustainable development and the Royal Government's dedication to advancing the SDGs through inclusive partnerships, mutual accountability, and effective development cooperation.
