In his keynote address, the minister is setting out Cambodia's policies and on-the-ground actions to protect, conserve and restore biodiversity and natural resources, and its role in global efforts to reverse nature loss amid climate change. The NBSAP 2026-2030 serves as the Kingdom's five-year policy framework for delivering the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

During the summit, H.E. Eang Sophalleth held talks with Ms. Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity, on the NBSAP. Further bilateral and multilateral meetings with friendly countries and international partners, along with his participation in the KBF meeting as a KBF Council member, are aimed at securing support, mobilising financing and reinforcing Cambodia's shared position with the world on environmental issues.
