Cambodian Culture and Products Shine at Asian Festival 2026 in Bulgaria
Phnom Penh, June 11,2026 – Cambodian culture, products, and hospitality took centre stage at the Asian Festival 2026 in Sofia, where the Kingdom's embassy showcased traditional crafts, cuisine, and national identity to an international audience.
H.E. CHEA Chanboribo, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Bulgaria, attended a press conference on the festival at the headquarters of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) in Sofia. The cultural event, now in its sixth edition, was initiated by the Indonesian Embassy and featured participation from multiple Asian countries.
At Cambodia's booth, visitors experienced a range of unique offerings, including Cambodian products, cultural displays, and informational materials on the nation's history and potential. A special highlight was the display of the "Krama," a hand-woven textile that serves as an iconic symbol of Cambodian identity.
Guests at the festival had the opportunity to sample delicious Cambodian desserts, coffee, and tea. In a touching display of humanitarian spirit, all proceeds from product sales will be donated to a foundation supporting children battling cancer.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador CHEA Chanboribo noted that this was the second time Cambodia has participated in the festival under his leadership. He described the event as a valuable opportunity to showcase the richness of Cambodian culture, civilisation, traditions, arts, and tourism potential to the Bulgarian public and international friends.
"Cambodia's participation in this event is to strengthen friendship, solidarity, and mutual understanding between the peoples of Asian countries and the international community," the ambassador said. "We believe that such cultural exchanges and cooperation will contribute to peace and sustainable development for all of us."
