Cambodian Information Officials and Chinese Side Praise Success of Media Training Workshop
PHNOM PENH, July 6, 2026 – Cambodian information officials and their Chinese counterparts have expressed high appreciation for the remarkable outcomes of the 14-day media training workshop for information officials and journalists from Global South countries, which concluded successfully in China.

The closing ceremony took place on July 6 in Beijing, attended by Mr. He Dongbo, Deputy Chairman of the Party Committee and Vice President of CBIC, who emphasized that the programme served as an important platform for deepening understanding of China's media modernization.

Participants visited Beijing and Yinchuan, where they studied China's development experience, explored the Baiji National Park to witness ecological achievements, and observed poverty alleviation successes in Minning. They also toured Zhuse Technology and Lingji Digital Technology to learn about technology-driven industry development, and engaged in in-depth discussions on media development at Ningxia Television Station.

Mr. Chhoun Chanpharun, Deputy Director General of the Information and Audiovisual Department, representing Cambodian participants, expressed deep gratitude to the Chinese government and organizers for the valuable opportunity and warm hospitality. He noted that the workshop exceeded expectations, providing knowledge and experience in China's rapidly developing media industry, including digital systems, AI technology, and professional media management.

The delegation also visited key sites including ZOOXER TECH to explore AI-driven automated camera technology, the Beijing Langyuan Station to observe the transformation of a former textile warehouse into a modern AIGC center, as well as the Great Wall and the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region to explore China's rich cultural and historical heritage.

Mr. He Dongbo expressed hope that participants would apply the knowledge and experience gained to modernize their respective media systems and strengthen friendship and cooperation between China and Global South countries.
