Cambodian Parliamentarians Share Peace Experiences at IPU Global Conference in Uzbekistan

PHNOM PENH, September 7, 2026 – A Cambodian parliamentary delegation led by H.E. Rofi Osman, a member of the National Assembly's Commission on Public Works, Transport, Civil Aviation, Posts, Telecommunications, Industry, Science, Technology, Innovation, Mines, Energy, Commerce, Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction (Commission 9), has participated in the 12th IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
The conference, held from September 4 to 6 under the theme "Restoring Human Rights, Justice, and Dignity for All in Turbulent Times," was co-organized by the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). It brought together approximately 100 young parliamentarians from 50 countries, along with representatives from international organizations, civil society, and youth experts.
H.E. Rofi Osman actively participated in all six sessions of the conference, sharing Cambodia's experiences in achieving comprehensive peace, the importance of maintaining peace and stability, protecting the rights of youth during conflicts, and building resilience to climate change.

The conference concluded with the adoption of an outcome document, reaffirming that human rights are the foundation of a dignified and secure life. Participants renewed their commitment to human rights and the responsibility of parliaments to promote and protect them.
