Cambodian, Thai Border Secretariats Meet as Cambodia Reaffirms Peace Commitments
PHNOM PENH — Sept. 29, 2026: Cambodian and Thai border secretariats met informally at the Choam–Sa Ngam International Border Checkpoint on Tuesday, as Cambodia restated its commitment to implementing existing border agreements.
The meeting took place at 11:00 a.m. in Anlong Veng district, Oddar Meanchey province, between Cambodia's Military Region 4 and Thailand's Army Area 2, under observation by ASEAN Observer Teams from both sides.

Brigadier General Nit Narong led the Cambodian delegation as Head of the RBC Secretariat, while Major General Kamphanat Waphansu led the Thai side. The meeting followed an invitation from Cambodia's Military Region 4 RBC secretaries.
Both parties discussed advancing the full and effective implementation of the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee of Dec. 27, 2025, including operational coordination and resolving issues to build mutual trust.
The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence reaffirmed their commitment to the GBC Joint Statement, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement of Oct. 26, 2025, and all other relevant agreements, aiming for a swift improvement in the situation and the restoration of normalcy, peace and long-term stability.
