Cambodian Youth Delegation Strengthens Vietnam Ties as 60th Anniversary Nears
PHNOM PENH — Sept. 28, 2026: Cambodian and Vietnamese youth leaders have pledged to deepen cooperation and prepare joint activities marking 60 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2027.
The commitments came during a visit by a Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia delegation to Vietnam, where H.E. Hun Many met with H.E. Bui Quang Huy, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, and H.E. Nguyen Kim Quy, President of the Vietnam Youth Federation.
The two sides reviewed progress under the UYFC-VYF Memorandum of Understanding for 2022-2027 and discussed new initiatives to strengthen friendship and serve young people in both countries.
With the 60th anniversary of Cambodia-Vietnam diplomatic relations approaching in 2027, both sides agreed to jointly plan programmes and activities with the governments and peoples of both nations.
Hun Many said the two countries have each faced difficulties and successive challenges, yet their friendship remains strong despite global shifts. He described the relationship as one of solidarity and sentiment rooted in foundations laid by earlier generations — a bond younger generations must continue to protect and nurture.
