Cambodia's Foreign Minister to Address UN General Assembly as Nearly 130 World Leaders Gather

PHNOM PENH — Sept. 22, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation PRAK Sokhonn will lead Cambodia's high-level delegation to the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.

Nearly 130 heads of state and government will attend the High-level Week in person. From Sept. 22 to 28, world leaders will gather for the General Debate under the theme "Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations that Delivers for All."

Prak Sokhonn will deliver Cambodia's national statement, setting out the Kingdom's position on key regional and global issues and stressing the importance of multilateralism. He is also expected to call for a stronger, more effective United Nations in responding to the international community's evolving challenges.

The statement will highlight Cambodia's development priorities and strategies, and reaffirm its commitment to sustainable and inclusive development.

On the sidelines, the Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening ties and advancing Cambodia's contributions to international peace, security and sustainable development.
