Deputy PM Sun Chanthol Chairs Meeting to Boost Wire Harness Investments
PHNOM PENH, August 4, 2026 – Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) H.E. Sun Chanthol chaired a discussion meeting on Tuesday morning to review progress in the automotive wire harness manufacturing sector, reaffirming the Royal Government's commitment to supporting and facilitating investment in this rapidly growing industry.

The meeting, held at the CDC, brought together senior CDC officials, representatives from relevant ministries and state institutions, and high-level executives from wire harness manufacturing companies currently operating in Cambodia.

Key agenda items included updates on overall sector progress, company reports on production activities and business operations, and discussions on challenges and requests aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and competitiveness. Participants engaged in an open and in-depth exchange of views, seeking joint mechanisms to respond directly and promptly to the private sector's operational needs.

On behalf of the Royal Government, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol reaffirmed the government's firm stance to continue supporting all relevant stakeholders to ensure sustained progress in the sector. He also emphasized the importance of the wire harness industry in contributing to Cambodia's industrial transformation from a labor-intensive model to one based on skills and advanced technology.

His Excellency instructed all relevant parties to maintain close collaboration with the private sector, monitor developments, and address all requests raised during the meeting in a timely and highly effective manner to enhance Cambodia's regional and global competitiveness.

Representatives from the wire harness companies expressed their profound gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, CDC leadership, and all relevant ministries for providing a direct and constructive dialogue platform. The meeting concluded in a warm and cooperative atmosphere, with both public and private sectors committing to strengthen their partnership to reinforce trust in Cambodia's investment climate, drive national economic growth, and achieve sustainable and inclusive development.
