First Lady Chanmony Pich Brings New Homes and Hope to Families of Fallen Soldiers in Siem
PHNOM PENH, August 24, 2026 – Cambodia's First Lady, Dr. Chanmony Pich Hun Manet, traveled to Siem Reap province on August 22 to personally hand over eight newly built homes to the families of fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives defending the nation's territorial integrity.
The homes, a gift from Prime Minister Hun Manet and the First Lady, are part of an ongoing effort to care for the families of those who have given everything for Cambodia. During the ceremony, Dr. Chanmony Pich also spent time speaking with each family, offering words of comfort and encouragement, and listening to their stories with deep concern and attention.
In addition to the new homes, she provided cash donations, household supplies, and food provisions to help ease the families' daily burdens.
“Behind the sacrifice of our soldiers, there are families we must continue to care for, support, and encourage—so that they can have hope and a better future,” she said.

The following day, August 23, the First Lady visited Prasat Bakong district to review the progress of a separate initiative aimed at improving the livelihoods of veterans' families through modern agricultural production. The programme is designed to create jobs, provide skills training, and build sustainable income sources for families of fallen soldiers and frontline forces.
The back-to-back visits reflect a deep and enduring commitment to honouring the nation's heroes by ensuring their loved ones are not forgotten—and that they have the support, dignity, and opportunity they deserve.
