Free Healthcare for Retired Generals and Admirals Under Expanded Government Initiative

Free Healthcare for Retired Generals and Admirals Under Expanded Government Initiative
PHNOM PENH, August 27, 2026 – Retired military officers holding the ranks of general and admiral are now eligible for free medical care under an expanded social security scheme, following a government sub-decree issued earlier this month.

Sub-Decree No. 175, dated August 11, 2026, extends healthcare coverage to retired personnel of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, granting them access to free examinations and treatment at all National Social Security Fund (NSSF)-affiliated health facilities nationwide.

The National Social Security Fund has urged eligible retirees to complete their registration as soon as possible. To enroll, they must visit NSSF headquarters or any provincial branch, bringing a valid national ID and a bank book.

Retirees whose names or birth dates do not match their identification records are advised to first visit the National Social Assistance Fund (NSAF) to obtain a correction letter, accompanied by a valid ID and one recent 4x6 civilian photo.

For inquiries, assistance is available via the NSAF hotline at 092/015 219 888.
