Germany Backs Cambodian Enterprise Competitiveness With €8M ICONE II


PHNOM PENH — Oct. 9, 2026: Germany has committed approximately €8 million over four years to a new project aimed at strengthening Cambodian enterprise competitiveness.

The Implementation Agreement for the Improved Competitiveness of National Enterprises II project was signed on Oct. 8, 2026, at the Council for the Development of Cambodia. H.E. Senior Minister Chhieng Yanara signed for the Royal Government, while Mr. Hans-Juergen Cassens signed for GIZ on behalf of the German Government, in the presence of German Ambassador H.E. Silke Röfer and around 50 participants.

ICONE II will run from 2026 to 2030. The project focuses on driving investment, raising productivity, developing medium and large enterprises, building entrepreneurial capacity, connecting local and European investors, expanding exports and improving Cambodia's standing in international markets.
