H.E Sok Soken Courts Vietnamese Investment, Boosts Inspection Training Ties

PHNOM PENH — Sept. 30, 2026: Cambodia's Minister of Inspection, H.E. SOK Soken, led a working visit to Vietnam combining investment outreach with expanded cooperation on inspection training.

In Hanoi, the Minister met Mr. Tran Xuan Hoang, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Member of the Board of Directors of BIDV, along with leaders of BIDV and the Bank for Investment and Development of Cambodia (BIDC).

H.E. Sok Soken praised BIDV's growth over 69 years and its operations in Cambodia through BIDC since 2009, crediting the bank with contributing to the banking and financial sector, job creation, knowledge transfer and social work. He urged BIDV to expand its investment in Cambodia and said he was confident BIDV and BIDC would continue strengthening bilateral ties.

The Minister also paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. TOUCH Sopharath, Cambodia's Ambassador to Vietnam, thanking the embassy for ensuring the visit's success.

In a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Lê Minh Hùng, the Minister conveyed greetings from Samdech Techo HUN Sen, President of the Senate; Prime Minister HUN Manet; and Samdech MEN Sam An, Supreme Advisor to His Majesty the King, to Vietnam's top leadership. He stressed the spirit of "Good Neighborliness, Traditional Friendship, Comprehensive Cooperation, and Long-Lasting Stability" and briefed the Prime Minister on his talks with Inspector General H.E. Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Đoàn.


The delegation also visited the Inspection Training College of the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam, meeting Rector Mr. Nguyen Van Luong. H.E. Sok Soken highlighted the value of exchanging experience on training and capacity building amid rapid digital change, and encouraged both institutions to pursue further experience-sharing and advanced training programmes.
