The project aims to rehabilitate and improve irrigation and drainage systems in the southwestern part of Phnom Penh, addressing long-standing flooding issues and contributing to better water management and urban resilience. The funding reflects Japan's continued commitment to supporting Cambodia's infrastructure development and sustainable urban growth.

This marks another milestone in the strong bilateral cooperation between Cambodia and Japan, which has spanned decades and covered various sectors including infrastructure, health, and education.
