Ministry of Commerce Discusses Trade and Investment Opportunities with American Cambodian Business Chamber
PHNOM PENH, September 9, 2026 – Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce Buon Sarakmony has held a bilateral meeting with a delegation from the American Cambodian Business Chamber (ACBC) to explore trade cooperation and investment opportunities in Cambodia.
The meeting, held on September 7 at the Ministry of Commerce, was led by ACBC Founder and Executive President Chan Sokvasna, along with representatives from U.S. companies in food processing, packaging, shipping, and logistics.
Secretary of State Buon Sarakmony welcomed the delegation's interest in expanding business operations in Cambodia and highlighted the potential of Cambodian products—including rice, cashew nuts, durian, Kampot pepper, cassava, and rubber—which can undergo further processing to enhance added value for export to the U.S. market.
The ACBC delegation expressed strong interest in expanding business operations in Cambodia, noting that the country possesses abundant agricultural raw materials and high-quality products that have yet to be fully processed or value-added to their maximum potential.
Both sides discussed connecting Cambodian producers and suppliers with U.S. buyers and distributors, as well as strengthening packaging, warehousing, shipping, and logistics systems to maintain product quality and boost competitiveness in international markets. ACBC also confirmed plans to bring additional U.S. business delegations to Cambodia in the near future to further expand trade and investment cooperation between the two nations.
