Ministry: Rice Prices Stay Strong as Philippines Exports Jump
PHNOM PENH, Oct. 16, 2026: Rice millers bought paddy from Cambodian farmers at good prices during the August-September harvest, helping lift rural incomes, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has said.

Ministry leaders told a joint value chain working group meeting this week that demand for paddy for milling rose after Cambodia opened its rice export market to the Philippines in February 2026.

Cambodia Rice Federation figures show millers paid up to 1,140-1,170 riels per kilogramme for Phka Rumduol fragrant paddy in early August, easing to 970-990 riels by mid-October. Sen Kra-ob paddy peaked at 1,050-1,070 riels in early August and stood at 930-950 riels in mid-October.

OM paddy peaked at 980-1,000 riels in early August and was 873-890 riels in mid-October.

The Federation also reported that rice exports to the Philippines climbed from 1,620 tonnes in January to 35,450 tonnes in September.
