"Our objective is to protect Cambodia's national economic interests. International trade increasingly depends on standards. If we do not participate in the development of these standards, we cannot effectively protect the interests of our businesses and exporters," he said.

He also highlighted Cambodia's progress in joining international standards organizations, including ISO, IEC, and Codex Alimentarius, allowing the Kingdom to move from observer to active participant with voting rights in the development of international standards.

"We have the right to vote and a voice in protecting Cambodia's interests and shaping the standards that affect our economy," he added.

The council also called on relevant ministries and institutions to serve as Cambodia's representatives on ISO, IEC, and Codex technical committees, which are key mechanisms for safeguarding Cambodia's strategic and economic interests.
