PM Hun Manet Distributes Aid to 10,700 Flood-Hit Families in Battambang

Phnom Penh, October 30, 2026: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet handed rice seed and food packages to 10,700 flood-affected families in Battambang province on Friday, telling them the government and authorities will stand by citizens in every circumstance and leave no one behind.
The Prime Minister thanked the provincial administration and relevant ministries for dispatching rescue teams, evacuating people at risk to safe ground and delivering emergency aid, including food, cash and essential supplies.
He said the government led by the Cambodian People's Party has stayed close to the people for more than 40 years, no matter how difficult the situation. During the event, he named a relocation village in Oddar Meanchey "Phum Srah Keo Chang Cham" and a site in Preah Vihear "Phum Ta Kueng Baetang Chang Cham," saying the names keep alive the memory of hardships caused by Thai military aggression against Cambodian territory.

He also urged people genuinely without land not to be swayed by incitement to clear state forest land, but to apply through local authorities, noting the government has already provided land and housing under social and economic land allocation programmes. He directed the agriculture ministry to prepare seeds for farmers to replant promptly, the water resources ministry to ready retention and drainage systems for the dry season, and the rural development and public works ministries to repair flood-damaged roads and apply lessons learned to build more durable rural infrastructure.
