Sbai Khmer and Wedding Attire Shine on World Stage in Korea
Phnom Penh,June 11,2026– Cambodia's traditional wedding costumes and the iconic Sbai Khmer have taken centre stage at the World Traditional Costumes Fashion Show in Seoul, showcasing the Kingdom's rich cultural heritage to a global audience.
The event was held on June 6 at the COEX Exhibition Hall in Seoul, organised by the Korea Hanbok Promotion Association. The Cambodian Embassy in the Republic of Korea participated, with the "Art Sprouts in Korea" group modelling beautiful Khmer traditional wedding attire on Cambodia's behalf.
The fashion show was part of the World Traditional Costumes Exhibition, an accompanying event of the 41st Korea Tourism Fair (KOTFA 2026). The programme served as a global cultural exchange aimed at promoting intangible heritage through the display of traditional costumes from various countries, including ethnic minority attire and multicultural fusion garments.
Through this cultural diplomacy initiative, Cambodia shared its historical identity and the enduring values of Khmer culture with the world. The stunning display of the Sbai Khmer and traditional wedding costumes highlighted the elegance and depth of Cambodian traditions passed down through generations.
