Siem Reap, Kampot Lead Pchum Ben Holiday Travel Surge

PHNOM PENH — Oct. 13, 2026: Cambodia recorded about 2.16 million visitor trips during the three-day Pchum Ben holiday, up 0.8 percent year-on-year, the Ministry of Tourism has reported.

Domestic tourists staying overnight accounted for roughly 382,549 trips and citizens travelling for leisure for 1,754,319 trips, while foreign tourists accounted for 24,343 trips.

Siem Reap province topped the list with 256,715 trips, followed by Kampot with 224,860, Preah Sihanouk with 195,994, Kampong Chhnang with 168,016 and Kampong Cham with 165,272.

The Ministry said festival tourism statistics count trips or visits rather than individual people, meaning one visitor may be counted more than once if they visit multiple locations or travel over several days.
