PHNOM PENH, July 29, 2026 – Siem Reap's cultural landscape has been enriched with the official opening of a new Alliance Française building, expanding the centre's capacity to offer French language education and cultural programmes in the region.
The inauguration ceremony took place on July 24, with representatives from the French Embassy joining local officials and partners to mark the occasion. The new facility features five additional classrooms, significantly increasing the centre's capacity to serve students and the broader community.
The extension was made possible through a generous donation from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, reflecting the strong ties between Cambodia and the Francophone world.
The new building underscores the shared commitment to youth development, education, and cultural exchange. The French Embassy expressed its appreciation to all those who have contributed to the growth of the Francophonie in Cambodia.
