UN Invites Cambodia to Showcase verify.gov.kh on Global Digital Platform

PHNOM PENH, July 9, 2026 – Cambodia's digital document verification platform verify.gov.kh has received international recognition, with the United Nations inviting the Kingdom to showcase the platform on the UN Digital Cooperation Portal.
The invitation was extended during a meeting between H.E. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, and H.E. Amandeep Singh Gill, UN Under-Secretary-General and Special Envoy on Technology, on the second day of the Global Dialogue on AI Governance in Geneva.
During the meeting, Minister Chea Vandeth briefed the UN official on Cambodia's digital capacity-building efforts, including the Techo Digital Talent Scholarship, Community Technology Centres, computer labs in primary schools, and public digital infrastructure such as verify.gov.kh.

The UN Special Envoy commended Cambodia's commitment and the success of verify.gov.kh, which has already won the 2026 UN Public Service Award for transparency and accountability. He invited Cambodia to share its experience on the UN Digital Cooperation Portal and to co-chair the UN Open Source Week in 2027.
Notably, verify.gov.kh has previously won the gold medal at the ASEAN Digital Awards 2024 in Singapore and the Outstanding Digital Service Award at the 20th World Summit on the Information Society Forum in Switzerland. These achievements reflect the successful efforts of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications and the Digital Government Committee in developing digital solutions for better public services, gaining national and international recognition, and showcasing Cambodian innovation in digital technology development.
The meeting reflects Cambodia's growing reputation as a leader in digital transformation and its commitment to implementing digital policy under the Pentagonal Strategy.
