US and Cambodia Strengthen Health Partnership with New Malaria-Fighting Innovations
PHNOM PENH, August 18, 2026 – The United States and Cambodia have reaffirmed their strategic health partnership, with a focus on eliminating malaria and combating other infectious diseases, following a meeting between U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Aleks Zittle and Cambodian Health Minister Professor Chheang Ra.

The two sides celebrated recent successes in bilateral health cooperation, including the approval of a U.S.-made mosquito repellent product that will contribute to Cambodia's progress toward malaria elimination and help address the spread of dengue fever.

The United States is also providing targeted assistance for Cambodians affected by the border conflict, with a focus on maternal and child health and malaria prevention.

The longstanding health cooperation between the two countries continues to support Cambodia in combating infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria, while strengthening its capacity to respond to emerging global health threats.
